On Friday October 17th the club announced plans for Shelbourne 100. We celebrated all our recent success and achievements while looking forward to our next milestones as we approach our centenary year. In attendance on the night were not only our management and coaching team but players and parents, as well as Limerick Mayor John Moran, Willie O Dea TD and Maurice Quinlivan TD.
While Shelbourne 100 is not only a celebration of our club as the oldest football club in Limerick, its a comprehensive plan for the development of facilities at the club. It’s also a fundraising initiative as well as a drive for new volunteers at the club to take on specific roles. This all goes hand in hand with a period of unprecedented growth at the club as we now have 32 teams actively competing locally and a playing population of 500.
If you are interested in volunteering at the club to help out with community, corporate and club fundraising, please reach out to the management or coaching team at Shelbourne. We also have volunteer roles available more in line with the day to day running of the club such as PRO, facilities management as well as kit design and supporting an online shop.
On the night we also announced exciting plans for our Shelbourne Centenary Wall which gives our local supporters and diaspora the opportunity to take a permanent place at the LPYMA. This buy a brick campaign is now live and provides three convenient methods of payment, it’s available through the clubhouse section on Clubzap or here.
For those without Clubzap, our new GoFundMe page can facilitate the buy a brick campaign as well as help us with donations directly for Phase 2 of Shelbourne 100 (Astro, Lights and Facilities at LPYMA).The GoFundMe is live here.
Well done to everyone involved in organising the night and thank you to all those who attended.
